You've learned some basic crochet stitches and can crochet back and forth to make flat crocheted items, like scarves and afghans, but now what?

Many different crocheted items start with a crocheted circle: Hats, socks, mittens, baskets, bags, coasters, crocheted animals or other representational items (Amigurumi) ... the list goes on and one.

In this class, you'll learn some of the tips and tricks for successful crochet-in-the-round:

  • How (and when) to start with a Magic Circle/Adjustable Ring
  • Adjusting stitch count to keep circles flat
  • Shaping for 3-D objects
  • Slip-stitch joining vs. spiral rounds
  • How the choice of yarn, crochet tension, and gauge will impact your final product

Skill Level: Easy. To be successful in this class, you should be comfortable with chaining, single-crochet, and single-crochet increases and decreases.

Supplies to bring to class: (registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases)

  • Yarn: 100-200 yards of light-colored worsted weight yarn (Category #4 or 5)
  • Hook: Size H-8 (5mm) or I-9 (5.5mm)
  • Notions: At least 2 stitch markers
