Your First Hat: Sweetheart Beret Crochet - 2 Thursdays: Oct 17 & 24; 5:30-7:00 pm
Instructor: Jody Ouradnik
Date: 2 Thursdays: October 17 & 24; 5:30-7:00 pm
Are you tired of crocheting dishcloths, washcloths, granny squares, and other flat rectangles or squares? In this class we’re going to begin crocheting in the round to create a very cute beret. This super sweet hat is a quick project that could also make a great gift!
Skill Level: Easy. To be successful in this class, you should be comfortable making chains and single-crochet stitches. It would be great if you've also had some experience making half-double crochet stitches, but we will review the half-double crochet stitch in class.
Supplies to bring to class: (registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns )
Yarn: 170-200 yards of worsted weight yarn. Recommended yarns: Berroco Ultra Alpaca, Sweet Georgia Worsted, Malabrigo Rios, Berroco Ultra Wool, or Cascade 220. The shop sample was made using Berroco Ultra Alpaca, which is wonderfully soft and easy to work with.
Hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
Notions: Stitch markers & tapestry needle. A row counter is useful, but not required.
