Assigned Pooling: Spot Cowl

Description:
Color pooling is the manipulation of yarns with long lengths of a distinct color to form patterns with that color in a finished project.
In this class, we will:
learn how to determine if a particular yarn can be used for pooling projects
discuss the differences between "planned pooling" and "assigned pooling"
practice the techniques required for Dawn Barker's assigned pooling pattern Spot, including Laura's recommended cast-on, working the cluster stitch, and suggested pattern hacks
share ideas for projects by other designers that use techniques similar to assigned pooling
Skill Level: Advanced beginner. Should know how to cast on, knit, purl, and make yarnovers.
Supplies to bring to class:
Dawn Barker’s “Spot” pattern
MTxBarker Wool Assigned Pooling ASAP yarn (2 hanks) OR a super-bulky yarn of your choice that will work for assigned pooling
Please have one skein of your yarn wound and ready to cast on and leave the other skein in the hank.
Circular knitting needles, a minimum of 24" in length, in size required to achieve pattern gauge.
