Brioche rib makes delightfully fluffy fabric, and it looks particularly striking when worked in two colors. In this two-session class, you will make a two-color brioche cowl in the round, and get comfortable with this rewarding technique. We will also cover how to fix some common mistakes. The skills you learn will also help you tackle one-color brioche projects, or brioche worked in rows.

**Note: There is a little bit of homework that you are asked to complete before coming to class!

Skill Level: To be successful in this class, you will need to know how to knit in the round on a circular needle. Beyond that, basic competency in knitting and purling (and recognizing the difference between knits and purls when they are on your needle), is sufficient.

Homework:
Cast on 100 stitches in your main color and work 1x1 rib for two rounds.

Supplies to bring to class:
(registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns)

  • Yarn: Aran or chunky weight yarn; approximately 125 yards each of two contrasting colors (The purple sample was made from Entropy Chunky and Cascade 128 Superwash. The yellow sample was made from Arranmore.)
  • Needles: A 24" US 9 circular needle
  • Other: Marker for the start of the round
  • Pattern will be provided in class.
