This is a one-time, two-hour workshop to help you make the choices necessary to get started with one of Andrea Mowry's patterns from the "Shift" collection, using yarn available for purchase at Northfield Yarn. The Shift Collection includes: The Shift cowl, Nightshift shawl, Shifty sweater, and Shiftalong hat.
During this two-hour workshop, we will review basic mosaic knitting techniques, working with color-changing handspun yarns, and how to choose colors for "Shift" projects. You can use what you learn during the workshop to make pattern and yarn choices. Recommended yarns for the Shift collection include Feederbrook Farms Entropy DK, Dovestone DK, and Sirdar Jewelspun
Additional Help:Laura will also be available at Open Stitch from 10 am - noon the following two Saturdays (March 21 & 28) to knit along and provide assistance with the project you planned during the March 14 session.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate. Skill level required will depend on the chosen pattern. You must be comfortable casting on, knitting, purling, increasing and decreasing. Some patterns are knit in-the-round.
Supplies to bring to class: (registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns)
You do not need to bring anything to class. Supplies needed for your Shift project will be determined during the course of the workshop and depend on the pattern and yarn chosen.
