Hand Care for Crafters - Tues., Feb. 26, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Date: Tuesday, February 26, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Keep your hands healthy! We are honored to have Ann Dahl from Wieber Physical Therapy in Faribault providing this workshop experience. We will begin with a brief review of the hand and upper extremity anatomy and how ergonomics can assist during the knitting process. You will learn simple hand care tips and effective techniques to care for your body, mind and hands. We will look at creative ways to use movement, stretching, breath and visualization/relaxation to reduce tension. A mini seated yoga and standing posture series will be taught to help hand-crafters prevent repetitive strain injuries, decrease aches and pains that are sometimes experienced in the neck, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back. All techniques are gentle so that everyone can practice them. This is a truly experiential experience, and there will be time to "Ask the Therapist," if you have personal questions for Ann.
