Instructor: Lee Mussehl
Date: 2 Sundays: November 10 & 17; 1:00-2:30 pm
This class will teach the basics needed to complete a small cross stitch piece that has a holiday motif. You will learn how to prepare your fabric for stitching, reading pattern, and how to start cross stitching your design on your prepared fabric. You will learn the cross stitches and outlining stitches that are used in most of the basic cross stitch designs. We will also talk through the half-stitch and three-quarter-stitch used in some more complicated designs. By the end of the class sessions, you will have a great start on your project with the knowledge to complete the remainder of your project at your own pace.
The supplies needed for the class project are supplied as a part of your class fee: 14-count Aida fabric, #24 cross stitch needle, 5” embroidery hoop, DMC floss, and the holiday pattern.
Skill Level: Beginner - You do not need to have any previous experience with cross stitch to take this class. It would also be appropriate for those who want to refresh their basic cross stitch skills.
Supplies to bring to class: (registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns)
Most supplies are included in your class fee, but please bring a small pair of scissors. Optional: A ruler or removable marking tape will help you keep your place in the pattern.
