Intro to Embroidery - 2 Saturdays: November 2 & 9; 12:30-2:00 pm
Instructor: Barb Anderson
Date: 2 Saturdays: November 2 & 9; 12:30-2:00 pm
Learn basic embroidery stitches while creating a Spring floral sampler similar to the one shown in the photo. All supplies -- hoop, fabric with transfer pattern, needle, and Pearl Cotton thread -- are included in your class fee for this introductory class!
Your completed sampler can be left in the hoop as a cute wall hanging. Use what you've learned in the class to embellish hand towels, garments, or other items. These basic stitches can be combined in many different ways to create a wide variety of designs, and will form the basis of more intricate stitches you might learn and add to your stitch repertoire at a later time.
You will learn the following stitches:
- Straight Stitch
- Chain Stitch (Lazy Daisy)
- French Knots
Skill Level: Beginner - You do not need to have any previous experience with embroidery to take this class. It would also be appropriate for those who want to refresh their basic embroidery skills.
Supplies to bring to class: (registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns)
- All supplies are included in your class fee. You may wish to purchase additional supplies after taking the class.
