How is yarn made from animal, plant, or synthetic fiber? What does it mean when you are told you need a certain “weight” of yarn? Isn’t making a gauge swatch a waste of time? (What is a ‘gauge swatch’ anyway?)
These and other questions will be answered during this informational session about the different types of yarn. We’ll even do a little experiment with different weights of yarn and needle/hook sizes to see how that affects the texture, drape, and size of the resulting fabric. Whether you are an experienced fiber crafter or just getting started in your fiber adventure, there’s a lot you could learn by attending this fun class.
Skill Level: Any
