Tapestry Crochet Intro - Thursday, March 21, 6:30-8:00 pm
Instructor: Jody Ouradnik
Date: Thursday, March 21, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Tapestry crochet expands your basic crochet skills to allow for unlimited possibilities in color work and design. During this 90-minute session, you will learn how to read a Tapestry Crochet chart and how to carry along and change colors to create simple 2-color motifs. We will also look at some of the resources available for charting your own designs.
Skill Level: Easy. To be successful in this class, you must know how to create a slip stitch, foundation crochet chain, single crochet stitch, and work in flat rows of single crochet.
Homework: There is no homework for this class
Supplies to bring to class: (registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns)
- Size H, I, or J crochet hook - Select a hook size that creates a fairly dense single-crochet stitch with your chosen yarn. Hook size H/8 (5.00 mm) is a good size for worsted weight (#4) yarn. Choose a smaller hook if you use DK.
- 2 contrasting colors of DK or worsted weight yarn - approximately 50-100 yards of each color. One color will be your "background" color and the other will be your "foreground" or design element color. The sharper the contrast between colors, the better the design/motif will stand out against the background.
- Removable stitch markers
