Weaving 102: Pick-up Sticks - Sunday, March 8, 12:00-3:00 pm
Instructor: Suzie Glimsdale
Date: Sunday, March 8, 12:00 - 3:00 pm
This class is the perfect follow-up class to Weaving 101!
Now that you know how to warp and weave, what is next? In this class you'll learn how to weave textures and lace on a rigid heddle table loom, using pick-up sticks. Bring a warped loom to class and away we go! Your loom should be warped 40" long and 8" wide (4" of one color and 4" of the second color).
Note: If you do not have a loom, but already know how to warp and weave, you can make arrangements to rent a warped Cricket loom from the instructor for an additional $15. Loom rental must be requested at least one week in advance of the class session. Contact the shop for more information.
Skill Level: Easy / Intermediate. To be successful in this class, you should already know basic weaving terminology and had some experience weaving on a rigid heddle loom.
Supplies to bring to class: (registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns.)
- Rigid heddle loom. Come to class with your loom already warped. See the Note above about renting a warped loom for the class session.
- Two colors of sport weight or DK yarn. Contrasting colors work best. At least 200 yards of each color.
- Two shuttles and pick-up sticks. (The instructor will bring pick-up sticks you can borrow during the class, if you don't have any.)
